What are you going to do?
You are the technical expert who makes sure our mobile robots function even smarter, more robust and efficient. You'll dive deep into control software and algorithms, translating complex issues into practical, scalable solutions. From the drawing board to practice, you will be closely involved in the entire process.

Your responsibilities
- Innovation & Development: You actively contribute to the latest control software and algorithms for our Nipper autonomous pallet transporter and stretchhood.
- Optimization & Troubleshooting: With your critical eye, you will identify areas for improvement and develop robust solutions to challenges such as wheel slip detection and increasing the fault tolerance of our systems.
- Testing & Validation: You design and perform extensive simulation tests and actively think about realistic field test plans to ensure the reliability of your developments.
- Collaboration & Implementation: You work closely with the assembly team to ensure that your developments can be easily implemented and configured, and you prepare clear documentation for this purpose.
- Support & Knowledge Sharing: You share your expertise with service colleagues and provide technical support for questions about the systems and functionalities you develop.
- Documentation: You record your approach, design choices and evaluations in a clear and structured way, so that knowledge is internally secured and remains transferable.

Who we are looking for
You are a driven engineer with a passion for autonomous control systems and a talent for solving complex technical issues at the interface of software and motion.
- You have a university or college degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or similar technical studies with a strong focus on control engineering.
- You have proven experience in designing and implementing control systems in moving, dynamic systems (think robotics, vehicle control, motion control, etc.).
- Knowledge of and/or experience with autonomous mobile robots is a big plus.
- You are able to communicate fluently in both Dutch and English (oral and written) and are willing to travel occasionally for projects or testing.
- Someone independent, structured and known for your strong analytical skills.
- A team player who likes to show initiative and actively thinks about improvements.
